That could well be a recipe in disaster, as you pointed out. So, rest easy on the fact that you did what God wanted you to do because God always wants us to give and loves a cheerful giver. Furthermore remember that he will resupply and give back to you to give to others. If this guy was not really in need, he will have to answer for it. I rest on this myself, because I have given to homeless people who I know have used the money for drugs when they needed it for food. That was when God told me that it is not my responsibility to worry about or hold them accountable for what they use it for. However, I am responsible for being obedient to give.
